Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and parts supplied by a third party vendor? Jetters, high pressure pumps and systems supplied by Harben or one of our approved dealers are manufactured using Harben OEM parts or parts from an approved supplier. Buying ‘knock-off’ or ‘copy cat’ parts from a third party supplier or another manufacturer may seem like a good idea at the time as they can be cheaper, but do not be fooled by this false economy. Over the years our engineers have carried out countless unnecessary repairs because ‘copy cat’ parts have been used in place of OEM parts. Below are a few good reasons for buying Harben OEM parts and why doing this will save you money in the long run.
Quality
Harben OEM parts are made from the correct materials and manufactured to the correct specifications for the job that they are required to do. They are tested to ensure that they meet our high standards and are suitable for the intended application. Do not get caught out by the ‘meets OEM standards’ claim made by third party suppliers. Using Harben OEM parts will always ensure that fitting times are kept to a minimum and they perform true to their specified function.
After-sales Service & Support
Do you require replacement parts urgently? As an experienced manufacturer we know which parts to keep in stock and have readily available to ensure that your jetter or pump is kept running. We offer a 24 hour turnaround on most parts and can even arrange timed deliveries to some areas. You can also obtain parts from our state wide approved dealers and services centres, making it even easier for you to ensure that OEM parts are always used. Harben Inc. may not be able to offer technical or diagnostic support or troubleshoot problems that arise if third party supplier parts are used.
Warranty
Most third party parts come with a limited warranty or none at all. When you buy Harben OEM parts you will get a manufacturer’s warranty and our knowledgeable staff are always on-hand to offer assistance and help you stay in compliance with terms of your warranty. WARNING: USING ‘COPY CAT’ PARTS IN YOUR HARBEN PUMP WILL VOID THE WARRANTY.
Return on Investment
Because Harben OEM parts are designed to fit and perform to factory specifications, using them will increase the life of your equipment. We will work with our customers to plan for maintenance and ensure that you always have the right part with the right advice when you need it. There is no better investment for your equipment!
Safety
You may think that you got a great deal when you purchased a cheaper third party part, but faulty parts and parts not designed for the specific application or manufacturer can damage your equipment and put your operators at risk of injury. Using Harben® OEM parts which are made from the correct materials and manufactured for the intended application will greatly reduce this risk if fitted correctly.
So whether you are doing regular scheduled maintenance or find yourself in an emergency situation, Harben® OEM parts are ultimately the most economical choice to protect the operational reliability and the safety of you and your jetting equipment. DON’T LEARN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HARBEN OEM PARTS AND ‘KNOCK-OFF’ PARTS THE HARD WAY!

When you’re looking for a replacement part for your car, you’ve probably run across the abbreviations OEM and OES. In this article, we will go over what each designation means and help you figure out which type of part offers the best value for your money.
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. An OEM part is usually made by a third party contract manufacturer, but it has the automaker’s brand on it. For example, GMB builds OEM water pumps for a lot of automakers. These water pumps are stamped with the automaker’s logo and packed in their branded packaging.
OES stands for Original Equipment Supplier. An OES part is made by the same manufacturer that built the OEM part found in your car. For example, if GMB built the OEM water pump in your car, GMB’s own water pump designed for your car would be an OES water pump.
OEM and OES parts are typically indistinguishable from one another when it comes to function and performance because these parts are:
OES manufacturers have the resources and equipment to build high-quality parts. Automakers deem them worthy of putting in their vehicles and putting their brand on them. It doesn’t matter whether you buy an OEM or OES part. Youd be getting the same high-quality part either way.
The best way to save money is to cut out the middleman. In this case, the automaker is the middleman. When you buy an OEM part straight from the dealer or a wholesaler, you’re paying a markup just to have the automaker’s brand on the part.
Typically, OES parts are purchased through a wholesale distributor or jobber, both of which offer low prices on quality parts. At GMB, we offer our parts through a network of wholesalers and jobbers. Check out where you can buy our OE-quality parts here.
