From my own experience, I would highly recommend just replacing the Sachs DMF with the LUK DMF clutch kit. I did this on my 04 NB TDI and the LUK is far superior to the old Sachs. Sachs clutches have been problematic for years. Not only their DMF's but I had to replace 2 Sachs VR6 clutches in my 96 Passat because of bad springs and worn disks.
You won't be disappointed with the LUK if you're looking for buttery smooth shifting and pedal feel. Plus, the LUK kit comes completely assembled so all you need to do is remove the old clutch and flywheel and install the new LUK and you're gook to go. I don't think the Sachs and LUK components are really compatible with each other. But then again, I never looked into going that route.
