I was just looking recently as well. Bottom line is weight capacity. I found many nice cheaper tables but with a 350 pound max capacity. The restaurant stores have tables for not much more but with 900 pound capacity - much better suited I feel.

Some math - 3 20 gal kettles - all filled with water - 8 pounds per gal X 20 gal X 3 (kettles) = 480 pounds. Granted you would never have all 3 filled to the top with water, but factor in a large batch, as well as knowing that grain is heaver than water, the 350 pound limit does not always leave much fudge factor. Could be OK, but I just know there's going to be that one day that someone leans on that table along with a big batch. I'll spend the extra few buck for 900 pound capacity.

The problem is that most of the online vendors don't specify the weight capacity. The table I'm considering from Webstaurantstore is spec'd at 900lbs and has a decent price but the shipping charge is outrageous, the shipping is almost as much as the price of the table.

Not sure if these are worth a crap or could handle the weight, but they're local via Craigslist:

Thanks, I'll check it out. The price of these tables is less than the shipping for the Webstaurantstore table

I too am curious about the weight capability of the table. For just an easy going 10g blonde ale recipe I'm guessing I'd use around 22lbs of grains, 8-10g mash water (let's say 80lbs), another 8-10g sparge water (another 80lbs). I'm using keggles so they're a little heavier, just guessing that the HLT is around 30lbs, MT 10-15lbs, BK 10lbs.

I'm looking at a minimum of 242lbs and those numbers are just guesses. The 18 gauge I've seen maxes out at 315lbs with evenly distributed weight which this definitely wouldn't be. Then add heat into the factor which I'm guessing would weaken the strength of the table.

I guess if Kal uses an 18 gauge table like the one that's liked through amazon then it must be fine.

Thanks for those numbers Kal. How do you feel about the galvanized steel legs and undershelf compared to an all stainless steel table? The all SS are quite a bit more but seem like they'd be easier to clean up. Does the galvanized steel clean up fairly easy if you were to have a boil over or a big spill?

I ended up going with this table which has a capacity of 900lbs!!! Shipping was around $20 also which is pretty amazing. Wanted to go with the 16gauge all stainless version but not only was it $80 more but the shipping was over $100.

I would love one of those filler tables but over $300 for a 12" one when I paid under $200 for my full size one is a bit much. I'm sure it's much nicer quality than my table though. Mine arrived with a few dents here and there and isn't as thick and sturdy as I'd like but I guess you get what you pay for.
