If you own a gorgeous crystal pendant light accessory, you know that cleaning is an important thing because it loses a little of its luster. Now is the time to do something, not just dust it off. Here are three ways to make your cleaning easier.

Drip dry

This will use a glass cleaner. Or, if you prefer, there are special chandelier spray cleaners on the market that can make the task easier.

1. First, for safety, make sure the ceiling light is off, remove the lamp and plug the lamp holder with a paper towel or something that will prevent any liquid from entering the connection.

2. Place a large amount of newspaper or towel under the accessory to catch water droplets.

To make sure there is no liquid on the floor, it is a good idea to place a large cardboard box under newspapers or towels.

3. Spray chandelier spray or glass cleaner heavily.

4. Care should be taken not to breathe in the fog created by the spray, so a dust mask or well-ventilated room may help.

5. Let the cleanser fall off the light fixture to remove dust and dirt from the crystals.

6. Let the lamp dry and remove the paper towel plug that prevents liquid from entering the lamp holder.

7. Wipe light bulbs.

Cleaner cleaning method

1. Ensure that the power supply is turned off.

2. Carefully place on the ladder under the light fixture, remove the solution and wear gloves, place your fingertips in the solution and carefully slide along each crystal chain with your fingertips.

3. Manipulate the crystal gently with gloves.

4. Change the detergent solution as needed. Always use gloves for crystal drops. Amazingly, even the cleanest fingers can leave a residue on the crystal, hindering the true manifestation of its beauty.

A method for the complete removal of crystals

Sometimes after years of neglecting the cleaning, the only way is to remove each crystal from the fitting and clean it by hand. This is often a difficult and time-consuming task. But for a crystal chandelier that looks old and badly in need of cleaning, the satisfaction and end result will be great.

1. Before removing any water droplets, make sure you have a note or photo of where each crystal chain went to refer to when putting them back in place.

2. Remove each crystal cord from the ceiling light, being careful not to scratch them.

Step 3 Place warm water and a small amount of mild cleanser, one by one, into a dishpan.

Rinse 10 to 20 crystal wires with this water, then 4.Rinse with cold water.

5. Repeat the process until each crystal is flushed.

6. Dry gently with cotton gloves or a material that will not come off and replace the crystal on the lamp.

Plan to dust your crystal fixtures a few times a month and thoroughly clean them once a year, and you'll keep your crystals truly beautiful.
